I Heart NYC
Last weekend, many fashionistas flocked to NYC for Fashion Week. I too hopped on a train and made my way to the big apple with my friend Beth. However, my agenda differed from many of my blogger friends. With work and a wedding that is just around the bend, I needed a break and some serious girlfriend time. I was at fashion week in spirit and lived vicariously through others' Instagram of their NYFW shenanigans. Thanks for the live pics and tweets, ladies! If you were in NYC, remember how hot and crazy humid it was last Saturday? I actually started the morning off with a long run and it was NOT fun. However, I ran up and down 5th and Madison, window shopping, which helped take my mind off of the task at hand. With the humidity, all I could handle was a braid, loose T, cut off shorts (used the same tutorial here, just went for a longer cut) and my go-to caged sandals (you sick of seeing them yet?). But as you will see in my pics, swapped out the sandals for my slip-ons. My friend Meaghan has a fitbit, so we were hell bent on beating the suggested 10K steps. We hit 16K, holla! Anyhow, excuse the limited number of OOTD pics, but I was sweating just posing. Snap, snap, snap and back into the AC we went.
At the top of our list, a pit stop at the Nutella Bar. Yup, you read right. NUTELLA BAR (pics below). The three of us opted for the Nutella-filled brioche. Stuffed, we made our way through the Flat Iron District and into SOHO, popping into C.Wonder (pics below), ABC Home (pics below) and Piperlime. There were a few other stops along the way, but more because we were taking advantage of the AC. Sunday was a much more bearable day, with the humidity pretty much non-existent. We had a nice little picnic at Carl Schurz Park on the UES, with bagels, of course. I also had the chance to catch up with one of my very first blogger friends, Sam (La Petite Pear). It was nice chit-chatting and catching up on what's been going on in our lives. Shortly after our meeting, my friend Beth and I headed to Penn Station to catch our Boston-bound train. I really do heart NYC.
