Going Tribal
I am always on the hunt for a good skirt; they are hard to come by! On my recent pilgrimage to the Wrentham Premium Outlets with my shopping partners Jenna (@1jmack) and Kate, we made a pit stop at Ann Taylor. I occasionally stop in to check out their stock of work clothes and find that it's a bit of a hit or miss. I did my usual lap around the store and out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a colorful printed piece. I quickly grabbed the multi-colored tribal print skirt and scurried off to the fitting room. To my excitement, it was a perfectly fitted pencil skirt. The best part was the savings I got!
Outfit Details:
The great thing about this skirt is that it works perfectly for the office and play. I love items that serve a dual purpose; justifies the purchase even more! The color and print make it fun yet the length and fit make it work appropriate. This skirt can be styled for a casual look with a light chambray or loose fitting T and a pair of flat sandals or summer espadrilles. For its debut, I decided to style it for the office. I balanced the colorfulness of the skirt and busyness of the print with a solid white button down and a pair of nude pumps (a must in every girl's closet). I picked up the pink in the skirt with my hot pink Kate Spade pouch. Keeping in tune with the tribal theme, I accessorized with my open triad cuff and metallic studded wrap bracelet.
My overall work look was fun and colorful, while keeping within the lines of the dress code!
Aviator Sunglasses: Prada, Sunglass Hut Outlet, $129.99. Check out these Juicy Couture platinum aviator sunglasses at Lord and Taylor, $98.
Dress Shirt: Custom made in Hong Kong. When I traveled to HK last fall, getting a few custom made shirts was on my list of to-do's. I have a hard time finding dress shirts that fit well so this is one of my faves. You can't see it in these pics, but I also sprung for the monogramed cuff. For a similar look, I recommend the Banana Republic tailored non-iron sateen shirt, $69.50. Thru 6/26, use code SAVE30BR to save an additional 30% off ($48.65).
