Skirtin' Around Haifa
Wishing I was still in Israel, but it's back to reality! I'll at least get to re-live some parts of it through my next few posts. One of the stops along our tour of Israel was Haifa. It was one of the most relaxing parts of the trip, as our stay spanned over Shabbat (day of rest). So our days were spent strolling through town and hanging by the hotel pool. We stayed at The Dan Carmel Haifa, which is located on Mt. Carmel, providing a great view of the city.
That Friday night, knowing that I would be attending a Kabalat Sabbath service followed by a traditional dinner, I wanted to 'dress-up' a bit. This was the perfect opportunity to break out my new geometric maxi skirt, which has maximum stretch in case I decide to overeat (which I did). The food in Israel was delish, especially the hummus!
The following morning, we drove out of Haifa to a Druze Village where we had the best falafel for lunch. It was all you can eat, so trust me, I stuffed myself silly! The afternoon was capped off with a little shopping trip through the bazaar where I picked up a silk scarf for myself. Then it was back to the hotel to hit up the pool. It took me awhile to embrace the maxi skirt but after wearing this one, I'll definitely be added more to my wardrobe!
