Simple Does It
Last weekend, my parents threw Dan and I our 3rd and last wedding party! It was a typical Vietnamese party: loud and a bit chaotic that included 170 guests (bigger than our actual wedding), a 7 course meal accompanied by free flowing Heineken. Oh, and a bit of karaoke too. I spared the guests and did NOT take to the microphone. Dan and I even donned some traditional Vietnamese outfits (he was such a great sport)! I must say, it ended up being a fun(ny) night. We were so happy for the opportunity to celebrate with the rest of my family who were unablee to make it to Puerto Rico, especially my other grandma who was not well enough to travel. Alas, all the wedding festivities have come to an end.
After our shindig, which entailed two outfit changes, a quiet and simple Sunday was in order. Jeans, tee and a sweatshirt were perfect for catching up on emails, banging out a blogpost and a running a few errands. Feeling like my outfit was lacking a little something, I grabbed the gorgeous Margaret Elizabeth ring from Rocksbox and one of my fave Bauble Bar statement makers. And how can one go wrong with gold slip-ons? You can't! Had a pretty great Sunday, which took a bit of a turn when our beloved Pats lost. But let's hope for a better outcome this Sunday!
In other news, I FINALLY got my butt over to the Social Security Administration office to start the process of changing my last name. Hello Rubin; adios Nguyen.
