Purple Haze

I love colored and printed denim (here, here & here), which is why I pulled this pair off the rack. The deep violet and black hues work together to create an asymmetrical pattern. Color and print all in one place; the best of both worlds when it comes to denim. The subtle pattern makes a bold yet balanced statement when paired with a black turtleneck and classic pumps. Even though the jeans were the focal point of this off-duty outfit, it still felt a bit subdued to me. Which means one thing: load up on the accessories! Cue in the furry (faux, of course) clutch. A recent addition to my collection that added the perfect amount of texture. The final fixings included a sprinkling of gold jewels that glimmered perfectly in opposition to an (almost) all black outfit. Outfit Details:

Aviator Sunglasses: Prada Outlet, $129. Piperlime has a selection of aviators for $100 or less. I also like these aviators from H&M. At $5.95, it's a steal!

Tissue Turtleneck: C&C California from Bloomingdale's Outlet, $12 (on clearance from $58). J.Crew Factory carries a similar style on sale for $12.99.

Horse Pendant: Not an exact match but close, Forever21 has a delicate version of a horse necklace in gold/burnished gold for only $2.80!

Clutch: French Connection from Saks Off 5th, $31.50. This clutch is sold out online but may still be available at the outlet. If you can't get to an outlet, check this faux fur clutch from Nasty Gal, $40.60.

Charm Bracelet: Gift. My fiance bought this for me early on in our relationship. We love playing Scrabble and on our first Valentine's day, he found a woman who makes jewelry from vintage charms. This charm bracelet has four Scrabble letters that spell 'Love' with various heart-shaped charms. One of my favorite pieces of jewelry! He doesn't remember the website he got this from but here is something similar (but not quite as special!) from Etsy.

Rings: Over the holidays, my mom gave me one of her old gold bands that has been sitting in her jewelry box. Her fingers are much smaller than mine so she had it re-sized to fit my finger. So now I have two gold bands: one from my dad and one from  my mom.
