Fashion Faux-ward

rayban_phillip lim for target_gigi new york_ku de ta_arturo chiangLeather is everywhere this season. Whether it be full leather pieces or items adorned with leather bits, you can't escape it. Embrace this edgy trend and release your inner bad ass. Easily elevate any ordinary outfit by infusing leather into your look. If you aren't sure about the whole leather movement, start off small. Maybe a pair of leggings with a patch of quilted faux leather at the knees? Or a wool jacket with faux leather sleeves. Maybe mix in two trends and throw on a leather embellished sweatshirt. The possibilities are endless! Featured here is another item from my 4am online purchase from the Phillip Lim for Target collaboration on launch day. I am quite impressed with the quality of the dress and it fits perfectly. I decided to wear this dress last weekend to a rehearsal dinner down on the Cape. The faux leather detail added a nice twist to a simple silhouette. It was also the perfect backdrop to showcase my new birthday accessories.

Outfit Details:

Dress w/ Faux Leather: Phillip Lim for Target, $49.99. The line is pretty much sold out online and in-stores. Have no fear, here are some alternatives for your consideration: (1) Piperlime: Ark & Co Leather Bodycon Dress, $64.99; (2) Piperlime: BB Dakota Mai Faux Leather Detail Dress, $79; and (3) Asos: Warehouse Quilted Panel Body-Conscious Dress, $74.75.

Mirrored Aviators: Ray-Ban from Piperlime, $93. These retail on Piperlime for $160, took advantage of a promotion and saved 20%. I then applied my rewards I earned from my BR card. If you are looking for something at a lower price point, you may like the Aviator Sunglasses w/ Blue Mirrored Lens from Asos, $16.91.

Leather Bracelet w/ Jeweled Accent: Ku De Ta, $22. A lovely South Boston boutique that is worth a stop in if you are ever in the neighborhood. For something similar: (1) Bauble Bar: Ivory Petal  Wrap.

Clutch: GiGi New York (Emerald Uber Clutch-Embossed Python), $gift (retail $130 +$15 personalization).

Pumps: Arturo Chiang (Avia) from Lord& Taylor, $63.20. Full priced, this shoe retails at $79 but I was able to use a 15% coupon. Use code FRIENDS thru 10/29 to save 25% and you'll get it at an even better price than I did ($59.25)!
