Cut. It. Out.

urban outfitters_steve maddenWho knew that Uncle Joey had the foresight that cut outs would be all the rage? All summer long, I noticed a high volume of girls in cut out dresses and was secretly jealous of how cute they all looked. As you can tell from my posts, I'm not big into showing skin so I dismissed the cut out all together.

On a recent shopping trip, as I was riffling through a sale rack, my eyes were drawn to a floral print that reminded me of a watercolor painting. I was a fan of the mix of colors: gray (my fave), purple and a hint of peach. Immediately, I pulled it off the rack. Once I saw the mesh and cut outs, I was ready to put it back. But at the urging of my shopping buddy, I decided to give it a try. And you guessed it; I loved the dress. The cut outs were minimal and most were covered in the sheer mesh fabric, which gave me a (false) sense of being covered up.

If you followed my Instagram last week, you know that I was wedding venue hunting. The location will remain undisclosed until I have a signed contract. It was on this particular trip that I debuted this dress for a night out with my fiance as we explored the area. To kick this outfit up a notch, I zipped on my my patent caged heels to continue with the cut out theme. I threw in my yellow lucite clutch to add an unexpected pop of color. Being that the clutch is completely clear, I was mindful of what I carried around that night. So, moral of this post? Be brave and bare some skin!
