Cupcakes and Photos and Blogs, Oh My!
This past Sunday, I had the chance to catch up with the lovely Elissa Garza of Style Wire. Our blog date started off with cupcakes and coffee at Sweet in Back Bay. While enjoying our treats, I had the chance to ask Elissa for advice and tips on blogging. This girl has some great insights! I have been lucky to meet many Boston bloggers, all of whom have been super friendly and sweet; Elissa is no exception. I could have chatted with her all day, but we had places to go and people to see.
Once we took the last sip of our coffees, our next destination was the Boston Common for some quick outfit pics. We quickly de-layered in the cold, snapped a handful of pics, threw our layers back on and headed to Marshalls. I mean, we were so close we had to make this one last pit stop. A stroll through the shoe, handbag and home goods department was the fix we needed. Once done, we said our good-byes and parted ways. I'm looking forward to our next blog date, already!
As you can see in the photos, I stayed true to my weekend uniform: graphic T, over-sized cardi and black leggings. I was on the go from morning until evening, so comfy was necessary. Before I met up with Elissa, I attended a Crate & Barrel registry party which was a bit overwhelming. After our blog date, I went to Home Depot (snore) with the fiance to pick out paint and carpet for one of his projects. A final stop at Target (scored a pair of Peter Pilotto sunnies) was made before heading to my fiance's parent's house for din-din. Let's just say I was completely pooped by the time we made our way back to Boston.
Outfit Details:
Hooded Open Cardigan: LF Stores (Rumor Boutique), $73. I was shopping in LA and happened upon a major sale in the store. This cardigan was originally ticketed at $168. If you have a chance, check out the store on Newbury Street. If you cannot get to a store, here are a few alternatives: (1) H&M, $17.95, (2) Kohl's, $24.99; and (3) Piperlime: Splendid, $88.
Graphic T: Junk Food, $5. Found this T in the sale bin this past summer at a clothing store called Jackie's in Chatham. Visit Junk Food Clothing online for other graphic t's.
Bracelets: Alex and Ani, prices range and starts at $24.
Ring: Open Pyramid Ring: gorjana-griffin from Rue La La, $29.90. Not an exact match but just as adorable, take a look at this Vince Camuto pave pyramid ring from Nordstrom, $16.75 (sale).
Nail Polish: Essie: Lollipop
Leggings: INC International Concepts from Macy's, $gift. My mom bought these for me so I am not sure of the exact cost but it definitely had a markdown tag on it. That's just how my mom rolls. This pair seems very similar, also by INC, $34.99 (sale).
Riding Boots: Tahari (brady) from Marshall's, $99. The closest in-season pair I found are from Macy's, also by Tahari: Karen Tall Riding Boots, $129.99. Don't forget to use your Macy's coupons for additional savings.
