The Keys to Success
When in doubt, pick a dress! Are you sensing a pattern with my outfit choices for work? This is one of my faves. The simplicity of this navy dress is amped up by the allover key print and a hint of gold hardware. The cinched waist and ruffled neckline adds texture and shape, while being work appropriate (hem hits the knees, neckline is not revealing with cap sleeves).
To add a teensy pop of color to my navy-gray palette, I chose a pair of gray ballet flats with a yellow capped toe. I then kept my accessories to a minimum, to offset the busyness of the print on the dress. Remember, work clothes do not have to be boring! Try to elevate your work look by mixing colors and prints, while keeping within the confines of your office dress code.

Knit gray tights: TJ Maxx, Gift. Instead of plain opaque tights, take a look at these gray herringbone tights at Target for $14.99.
Ballet flats: Old Navy, under $20. I have owned these flats for a few years now and am quite surprised by how long they have lasted; definitely got my money's worth in wear. I just checked out Old Navy and found perforated flats in high voltage (lime green, basically) for $20. Now through 5/6, get 20% off your purchase (or 30% if you have a BR, Gap or ON store card).
Bracelets: Spike cuff, Aqua from Bloomingdale's, $21. Jewels by Dunn carries a similar spike cuff for $38. The gold bracelet with light blue gems was purchased from a local jewelry shop in Woodstock, VT during its going out of business sale. Lucky for me, that meant 40% off the original price ($125).
