Sparkle

A few days ago, I wrote a post providing a re-cap of the Loft Fashion Bash event, which was hosted by none other than yours truly! I showed you some of my fave outfits I put together and snaps from the evening, but didn't give any mention to what I wore that night. I'd be remiss if I didn't give this outfit a shout out, since I am completely obsessed with the skirt! The shimmery shiny beads, sequins and thread creates a spark-like effect against the dark wool-blend background that is eye-catching. Pairing the skirt with a dark top would have been the easiest and obvious choice, but that was not the route I wanted to take. Instead, I added a muted print to the outfit. The black and plum colors of the animal print tied in well with the skirt. The sheerness of the sweater was a great contrast to the heaviness of the wool-blended fabric. To bring the sparkle up a notch, I added a jeweled bronze-colored statement necklace and pumps. One last thing I forgot to mention: pockets. Why do pockets instantly make any skirt or dress that much cooler? Always an added bonus.

Necklace: Gift from a friend who purchased it in NY. A close second is the Style & Co Gold Toned Faceted Glass Pave Necklace from Macy's, $24 (sale).

Tights: Gap, $can't remember. Not sure when I purchased these tights, but an alternative is the argyle sweater tights from Gap, $19.95. Use code GAPNEW thru 12/22 and save an additional 20%.

Bronze Snake Pumps: Nicole Miller from DSW, $gift. My girlfriends bought these as a birthday gift many years ago and I still love them! For something similar I suggest these: DSW, Moda Spana Kimberly Platform Pump, $59.95.
