Headed for the 'burbs
After a long week at work, it was pretty hard to get motivated to go out on a Friday night. I was not in the mood to go to a bar only to get bumped by strangers and yelling in an attempt to hold a conversation with friends. Instead, I took a ride in my mini out of the city and headed for the 'burbs to spend quality time with friends.
Knowing that most of the night will be spent in their backyard (yay, for big yards and grass!) surrounding a fire and with the temp starting to drop, I figured my chambray shirt (recent pick up from Marshall's), cropped jeans and espadrilles would keep me warm enough. And of course, no outfit would be complete without a few bangles on my arm. I totally underestimated how cold it was going to get and had to borrow a North Face from the gracious hostess!

Cropped Jeans with Ankle Zippers: Madewell, $30. Pulled this from the archives; was purchased a few seasons ago. You are in luck. I found two pairs of jeans similar in look and color on Piperlime: 1) Herringbone Crop Skinny by Free People, on sale for $54.99; (2) Skinny -Slim Illusion Jeans by 7 For All Mankind, on final sale for $77.97.
Summer Espadrille Flats: Soludos from Bloomingdale's Outlet, $12.50. I think I got lucky on this deal. If you go to Soludos online, there are so many styles starting as low as $28. These are a summer must-have.
Necklace: Love disc necklace from Marc by Marc Jacobs, $10. Also pulled from the archives but found this great gem horseshoe necklace also from Marc by Marc Jacobs for $12. The other charm was a present that I added; an easy way to personalize jewelry.
Bracelets: (1) Bangles, Alex and Ani, price ranges starting at $24, (2) Spike Cuff, Aqua from Bloomingdale's, $21 (Nabbed this during the Friends and Family sale, reg. price $25).
Rings: Gold plated open pyramid ring by Gorjana-Griffin via Rue La La, $26. Check out Piperlime for this solid pyramid gold ring by Hive & Honey for $20. Gold band was my dad's wedding band.
