Denim Days
I get really excited when we have jeans day at work. It's the little things in life that keeps me going! I get to dip into my off-duty clothes pile for an on-duty day. An extra day of air time for my off-duty clothes, instead of the two/week. Just because it's a jeans day in the office, doesn't mean that I dismiss the office dress code entirely. On this particular jeans day, I started with basic black skinny jeans and comfy striped t-shirt (something I generally wear on the weekends). I felt like I was toeing the line of being too casual so I tucked in my t-shirt and added my peplum blazer (worn here) to create a crisp look. Tip: adding a blazer will instantly elevate an outfit. I am usually a flats kind of girl but opted for my bronze snake pumps to add a little sass to the overall look. This was the perfect jeans day outfit, as I didn't need an outfit change for a dinner date with a friend (at which point I did switch over to flats!).
Outfit Details:
Peplum Blazer w/ Faux Leather Details: The Fashion Truck, $50. If you are ever in the Boston area, The Fashion Truck is definitely worth a visit. Everything on the truck is under $100; my kind of place to shop. Check out the schedule on Facebook. Also, the Fashion Truck recently opened up a brick and mortar shop in Westford, MA. Until you can make a visit, here are some close alternatives: (1) H&M: Fitted Jacket with Faux Leather Sleeves, $39.95; (2) Tinley Road Vegan Leather Ponte Mix Blazer from Piperlime, $98; and (3) Forever21: Satin Open Front Jacket, $32.80--there are no leather details on this jacket but if you wanted a blue blazer, this is a great choice.
Black & White Tee: Gap (essential rugby crew T), $3.50. This tee is no longer available online, but for some alternatives: (1) Forever21: Boat Neck Striped Top, $9.80; (2) Forever21: Multi-Stripe Relaxed Top, $14.80; and (3) Zara: Striped T-Shirt, $29.90.
Black Skinny Jeans: Club Monaco, $49.50. I purchased these on sale last winter. For something similar, I recommend Gap's 1969 legging jeans, $69.95. I own them in other colors and they are super comfy.
Necklaces: (1) Agatha Paris (French brand), $ bday gift from my Parisienne friend. For something similar check out Kate Spade: Skinny Mini Necklace, $78 or Etsy: LittleThingsbyTCY, Simple Bow Necklace, $12; and (2) Cupcake Necklace: Present from my friend when she visited Huntington Beach, CA. I inquired and she mentioned it came from a store called Heavenly Couture. Visit this etsy shop for something similar, $21.
Rings: (1) Mini-Bow Ring: Madewell, $13.50-on sale; (2) Gold band was a gift from my dad. I love Bauble Bar's gold classic cigar band as an alternative, $36 and (3) Open pyramid ring by gorjana-griffin (Rue La La, $29.90), an alternative is the Forever21 pyramid ring set, $3.80. Wear one or stack them all!
Bronze Snake Pumps: Nicole Miller from DSW, $gift. My girlfriends bought these as a birthday gift many years ago and I still love them! Try these on for size, DSW: Moda Spana Kimberly Platform Pump, $59.95.
