Last Sunday, the weather gods smiled down on us and blessed us with sunshine and warm temps. Cue in the bare legs that desperately need a tan! This lacey number was given to me by my bestie on my birthday back in October, at which point I tucked it away in my closet, waiting for the warmer weather to arrive. Months passed and I totally forgot I even had it. Until this past Sunday. Humming and hawing over what I was going to wear, I noticed a patch of lace and pastel that quickly reminded me of the dress; perfect for Easter. As I pulled it from the hanger, I was overcome by that feeling of excitement as if I had purchaseed something new. Love shopping from my own closet! But then I had to address another dilemma. What do I wear with it? A white/cream cardi was too obvious, so I decided shake things a bit. Instead of covering up the dress, I slipped a light chambray underneath. A make-under, if you will. It was the perfect way to give the dress an edge, without compromising the femininity of the dress. I removed the fabric belt and replaced it with a gold braided one. With a quick pull, the belt created a nice waistline, cinching in at the right place. The best part was, as I got full stuffing myself silly with mom's home cooking, all I had to do was loosen the belt a few notches. Now that is fashion with function! I pulled these rose gold strappy sandals from the archives, which were the perfect pair to usher in the Spring.
Hope you all had a great Easter/Passover. And if you didn't celebrate either, I hope you at least got Friday off!
