Black & White
The first item of my outfit that I decided on was a black and white grid-print skirt. I continued to pull together the rest of my outfit and when I finally looked at what was thrown on my bed one thing was clear. It was going to be a black and white kinda day. This is somewhat unusual for me, since I tend to mix colors into my looks. Instead of re-working the outfit, I figured what I lacked in color I can make up in print and embellishments. A little bit of houndstooth, studs and geometric jewels did the trick! Quick tip: Tights are a great and easy way to add a dose of print to any outfit. Get creative; mixing print on print is OK. So maybe I wasn't completely colorless. The bright yellow top-handle crossbody was the perfect finishing touch.

Black & White Grid Skirt: Ann Taylor Outlet, $30-ish. An item that's been in my closet for a few seasons. The silhouette and black and white pattern make this skirt an instant classic. Houndstooth Print Tights: The Limited, $10. I purchased these last Fall and they are still in tact! I would recommend any of the printed tights at The Limited, most currently on sale for $10!
Sunglasses: Oliver Peoples (braverman 55), $125 (retail $420). On a recent trip to NYC, I stopped by the sample sale at the Oliver Peoples store on E.68th and Madison. As an alternative at a much lower price point, I recommend the Greenwich in revolver black from my favorite sunglasses company, Warby Parker, $95.
Mini Bubble Necklace: Jane, $15. Jane is one of my favorite places to shop for designer inspired jewelry. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact Etsy shop name. I did a quick search and found this Etsy boutique: Wedskie, $9.
Gold Twist Pave Cone Cuff: This was a buried bauble from Bauble Bar that I got for $10! Top Handle Crossbody: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target $34.99. Unfortunately, this bag sold out in-stores and online. Patent Studded Pumps: Ivanka Trump (galyn) from Lord&Taylor, $54.99 (retail sale $89.99). I had been eyeing these forever but didn't want to pay full price for them ($150). So I waited it out. Finally, they went on sale and I grabbed them during the Friends & Family event and saved an additional 25% off. Lucky for me, I had returned a few bday presents and used the credit towards these beauties. They are SO comfy. Now I am eyeing the leopard version.
