Bird Lady
The struggle of a wasted outfit is real. Two weekends ago, Dan and I headed for the Jersey Shore. As we were packing the night before, I gave him ample notice that I wanted to shoot a few quick outfit photos before we left for the airport. He agreed. So I carefully curated an outfit that I'd wear straight to the airport and onto our final destination. The next morning, once packed, I yelled to Dan that I was ready for my close up. He looked at me like I had 5 heads, "We don't have time." I was a bit annoyed. After some back and forth, I conceded and said I had to go change my clothes. If there was going to be no proof that I wore this outfit, I didn't want to wear it. Once again, he did not follow. He literally threw his hands up in the air and conceded. We ran out the back way through our courtyard and snapped a few pics. Then ran back up the stairs, grabbed our luggage and called an Uber. Made it to the airport in no time! I told you so, Dan.
Just a quick note on this dress. I bought it because I was so in love with the bird print. However, I wasn't quite happy with the fit. The hemline is a bit shorter than what I am used to wearing. When coupled with the sleeveless cut, I felt like I was showing too much skin. The top half was also a bit too big for me. I compensated by throwing on a chambray (covered up some skin and hid the fact that the top was loose) and pairing with a summer espadrilles (minimized the hemline from getting any shorter). I was quite satisfied with the casual look that resulted from the tweaks I made.
Anywho, our weekend on the Jersey Shore was fabulous. Logged in some serious pool and beach time; leaving with zero burns or weird tan lines! Headed to the Borgata for dinner and some roulette. I won $16, yahoo! And of course, a healthy dose of boys v. girls competition in mini golf. Dan and I lost, thus buying the other couples candy of their choice on the Ocean City boardwalk. Fortunately, our weekend didn't involve fist pumping or any weird 'situation'.
