Baby Boom
During my mid to late 20's, I was heavy on the wedding circuit. And with each wedding, that also meant attendance at bridal showers and bachelorette parties. And with each event, comes the daunting task of finding that perfect present for the bride and groom. Yes, there are registries, but I always wanted to add a little something special for each couple. Once all those couples got married, fast forward a few years and it's baby time! Not having any of my own, it's sometimes hard to know what to get. Yes, again there are registries, but how many diapers, tubes of rash creams and bottles can one buy? All necessities but ZERO fun. Then there are those couples who are on to their 2nd or Nth child. What do you buy the big brother/sister? If you are in the same boat as I am, you'll want to listen in and check out UncommonGoods. UncommonGoods' mission is to provide its customers with wide-ranging products that are produced in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. You also won't find any leather or fur here - all products are animal (and human) cruelty free. Pretty impressive, huh?
So back to the subject at hand: baby gifts. After perusing the site, here are my top picks for baby shower gifts:
Milestone Baby Cards, $24-34
Personalized Storybook Art, $75-$100
Personalized My Alphabet Book, $38
Letters to My Baby, $14.95
Expecting You - A Keepsake Pregnancy Journal, $12.95

And don't forget about the newborn's sibling(s)! I'm sure it's tough for them to wrap their minds around having another little human around. Remind them that they are special. A gift from you will surely make you a favorite aunt/uncle!
