Summer Straw Bag

I think most of us would agree that the Summer “it” bag is a straw one. They come in all shapes, sizes and patterns. I wanted to get my hands on another one (read here for the one I found second hand!). So when amerii reached out to collaborate, I gladly accepted. The story behind their beautiful bags is that they are all 100% handmade by local Balinese artisans. All bags purchased by amerii are from weavers who promote Fair Trade. Because each bag is handcrafted, there may be slight variations, including the fabric used on the inside - a surprise (hopefully, you like surprises). I took this bag with me on our recent weekend getaway in NYC. It’s the perfect size (which means it can hold my iPhone 8+, lip balm, cardholder and small tube of hand lotion). This is the rattan bag (medium) - monochromia. Wears comfortably as a crossbody.

I also like the snap button closure - keeps things secure!

I love the detail on this bag. The contrast between the dark and light weave is stunning and you can see a little bit of the fabric peeking out from the inside.

For a day of walking, I did a quick footwear change into my Reebok classics. The rest of my outfit is from wysh san diego (purchased on our most recent vacation). The sunnies (Chanel) were a mother’s day gift from my mom!

Another quick swap out for dinner. Switched back into my mustard Universal Thread mules with a pair of Gap denim shorts but kept the bag (obvi!).
