Ah, yes. Another denim day in the office. Even though wearing jeans to work may be considered dressing ‘down’ or going casual, I like to keep my look polished and professional. Cue in the blazer. The satin trim gives a ladylike touch while the chain embellishment gives it an edge. The two play nicely against each other, striking an elegant balance against a tweed backdrop. The jewel-tone denim added a pop of (subdued) color. Continuing with the feminine edginess that started at the top, I threw on my ankle strap studded heels to finish out the outfit.
On a side note. This blazer was purchased during my shopping expedition in Southie on 11/30 as part of the ‘shop small’ Saturday initiative. I love the local shops and boutiques in my neighborhood, which are all giving other Boston shopping neighborhoods a run for their money! If you are even in Southie, let me know and I’ll show you around!
Tweed Blazer w/ Chain Accents: Closet Connection (Halogen from Nordstrom), $26. I took a quick peek at Nordstrom and found these great tweed blazers, all under $100: (1) Frenchi Faux Leather Trim Tweed Jacket, $59 and (2) Hinge Faux Leather Trim Tweed Jacket, $70.80 (sale). Although not tweed, the weave on this blazer is pretty amazing. Check this H&M Short Jacket, $49.95.
Skinny Jeans: Uniqlo, $20. I bought mine last fall at the incredible 12 story Uniqlo in Tokyo. They are currently on sale and available online for $14.90. These are amazingly comfortable and super stretchy.
Patent Studded Pumps: Ivanka Trump (galyn) from Lord&Taylor, $54.99 (retail sale $75). I nabbed these during an F&F event coupled with some store credit to bring the price down from the original $150. Use code READY thru 12/11 and save 20%, bringing your price down to $60!
Bracelets: (1) Tiffany Bead Bracelet: Closet Connection, $75. I lost my Tiffany bead bracelet on a trip to Chicago a few years ago. When I went to the store with the intention of buying a new one, I was horrified that the going rate was $200. I purchased mine for $85; damn you inflation! I was psyched when I found this at the consignment shop; total score. For something similar without breaking the bank, I recommend checking this replica on Etsy $70; (2) Silver and Pearl Bracelet: Aurum, $85-ish (I think that’s the right conversion). This was a purchase I made on my trip to Iceland earlier in the year. I love how dainty the bracelet is and the pearl is a perfect touch.
