Trendy On A Budget

Looking good shouldn't cost that much!

Tissue Please!

Besides my basic black, white and grey tees that are a staple in my wardrobe, there’s one more item that is a constant. A turtleneck. And not just any turtleneck: the tissue turtleneck. I love that it’s lightweight and fits perfectly over a thin cami. It tucks perfectly into skirts – no bunching!

Sadly, right before I left for India, I had to retire my only one due to a stubborn stain. So into the trash it went. Totally forgot that I did this because I went crazy looking for it only realizing what I had done. It was time to re-stock. Online I went to J.Crew Factory, where I found it (at the time) at about $15. Of course I couldn’t buy just one item (it was the Black Friday sale!). Into the shopping basket went this fabulous army green skirt. I couldn’t help myself. I’ve seen this style so many times over that I had to jump on the bandwagon. I mean, it cinches at the waist and has pockets. Need I say more? I also threw this pair of tights into the shopping cart, as well. Overall, the outfit only put me out at $56! You too can nab this outfit for just about the same price (+$10) – check the deets below and you can thank me later 😉

Outfit Details:

Gatsby Round Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, $150.

Ear Crawlers: Bauble Bar (trio gift set from Hubs) via Nordstrom Rack, $16.80 clearance!

Tissue Turtleneck: J.Crew Factory, $14.50.

Bracelets: The wrap bracelet is an old Alex and Ani that I picked up from Nordstrom Rack. I couldn’t find it online but here’s a close one (groove wrap bracelet) for $24.97. The hammered gold bangle, by Sonja Rose B, was a souvenir to myself on a trip to SF two years ago. The gold bangle with the jewels is a Christmas gift from my girlfriend – it’s by Sandy Hyun.

Wool Sidewalk Skirt: J.Crew Factory, $34.99. The following colors are available:  olive, bright cerise, raspberry, camel, and gray plaid.

Mini Pashli: Philip Lim via Nordstrom (old). I did grab this during one of their infamous sales and was able to save some $$ on this little guy.

Opaque Tights: J.Crew Factory, $12.50

Booties: c/o M.Gemi (Poco). It is currently on sale for $175 (reg. $298). They are super comfy and required zero break-in.

Love the tissue turtlenecks! They’re so great for layering and work well on their own too. Perfect look for a snowy day!
