Panty Party

Kohls_Panty Party

This post is sponsored by Kohl’s, in which I was paid for this post and received the included panties as compensation. Opinions throughout this post are my own. Ok, now with that out of the way, read on to learn the what, when, where and why’s of my panty selections!

Every now and then, I’ll pop into Kohl’s to purchase very specific items: a small kitchen appliance, a few hand towels, picture frames, an LC sweater I saw online- just to name a few. It never dawned on me that Kohl’s could be a go-to for my unmentionables. Panties, to be exact. When the opportunity came along to shop Kohl’s panties selection, I jumped at the chance. Because really, can a girl have too many pairs of undies?

SO Smooth Thong_

What: Juniors’ SO Smooth Thong

When: 9-5

Where: The office

Why: Regardless of the fit of a pant, the VPL (visible panty line) struggle is real. Generally speaking, a thong can usually combat this unsightly issue. However, not all thongs are created equal. By a show of virtual hands, how many of us own thongs that are just completely uncomfortable? And on top of that, how many of us own thongs where the panty line is very visible? Let me tell you, these barely-there seamless thongs are the answer to our VPL woes. The smooth microfiber fabric makes this thong super comfy and invisible underneath these pants. I chose only two pairs from this line but may need to go back for a few more. There are plenty of fun colors and prints to choose from.

Cosabella Amore_

What: Cosabella Amore Love Low-Rise Thong

When: Off duty

Where: Anywhere but the office

Why: I’d like to add one more thing to the list of VPL issues previously discussed: pinching. There are a small handful in my arsenal of thongs that are just a wee bit tight. They actually pinch in at the sides, leaving dents on the left and the right. When you overlay a pair of tight leggings, it causes a muffin-top effect. Not cute. Thankfully, this Cosabella thong eliminates the issue. The cotton is soft and the lace trim sits comfortably on the hips. The funny thing about the sizing is that it’s ‘one size fits most’. I never understood how that worked but it did fit perfectly fine on me (I am generally a size small / waist 25). This style is offered in a small handful of solid colors.

New Balance_

What: New Balance Breathe Sport Hipster Panties

When: Working out

Where: Gym

Why: Because I workout / run about 4-5 times a week, I am very particular about my workout clothes. I mean, when you look good, you feel good and work out harder, right? But in all seriousness, what’s underneath is just as, if not more, important than what’s on the outside. Nothing is worst than sitting in a pair of cotton underwear that has absorbed some serious sweat after a workout. I know, totally gross, but totally true. These NB moisture wicking undies is the solution to this problem. Additionally, the seamless style also combats VPL. One less thing to worry about while we get our sweat on.

Jockey_

What: Jockey No Panty Line Full-Coverage Promise Brief

When: Office jeans day & weekends

Where: Friday’s at work and weekends

Why: Thongs are great and all, but sometimes, I just want comfy full bum coverage. It’s during these times where the worry of VPL is real. I don’t know about you, but the thong and jean combo is not my fave. So as I was perusing Kohl’s panty selection, the ‘no panty line full-coverage’ had me at hello. I’m sure these will be hated by my hubby, but sometimes, practicality wins all. I added a pair of black and nude colored ones to my arsenal, in addition to the polka dot one pictured. I also tested these out over the weekend underneath a swing dress and it was uber comfy.

MaidenForm_

What: Maidenform Cotton Dream Tailored Boyshorts

When: Lazy Sunday’s

Where: At home

Why: Sunday mornings are made for lounging at home – in a tee and comfy bottoms. These elephant pants are my fave and I picked them up at an outdoor market in Delhi for about $5. To match the level of comfort achieved with my at-home Sunday outfit, I need an equally comfortable pair of panties. These boyshorts fit perfectly underneath these loose fitting pants and the stretch fabric hugs my derriere just fine.  And how cute is the polka dot print? The price on these aren’t too shabby either! Much to like about this pair.
