Trendy On A Budget

Looking good shouldn't cost that much!

Panes & Stripes

Splendid_JCrew_Bobbles & Lace_James Jeans_Loeffler Randall_Coach_coverAs it goes every week, when the weekend approaches, I engage in the small talk about what’s going on that weekend. This last time, whenever asked, I would emphatically respond “Going to the Bloomie’s F&F Event!” I’d get a bit of a blank stare, as if they were waiting for more. But that was all I got. Anytime the mister tried to make plans for Sunday, I would tell him I could not commit because I’d be at Bloomie’s. To which he replied “all day?” I shrugged my shoulders because really, I could spend a good chunk of my day there. I always go with my shopping buddy, Jenna. We have a checks and balance system in place, making sure every purchase is worth it. Entering our shopping trip, I always give myself a budget. If not, my spending could get out of hand! I am Trendy On A Budget, after all…

Last Sunday was the perfect fall day: sunny with a hint of cool. I donned some light layers, shimmied into my jean leggings and pulled on my fave pair of knee boots. A pony tail was all I could muster; just one of those days, ya know? But as the shopping trip went on, I had to lose the sweatshirt. I was working up a sweat from all the excitement over some great buys! Stay tuned to see what I nabbed.

I probably sound a bit crazy in this post, but seriously, there must be some store events you are excited to shop. Spill the beans.

Outfit Ideas:

Bar Stripe Sweatshirt: J.Crew Factory, $28.99. I was a lucky gal, finding this on the super clearance rack at $13.59!

Window Pane Print Blouse: Splendid from Bloomingdale’s. I was quite excited to find this top already marked down and on the sale rack. Tagged originally at $118, I paid a whopping $46! This was purchased at the last F&F event. For something similar, Calvin Klein carries a window pane print blouse in cream and black, $49.50 (sale).

Agate Pendant Necklace: Bobbles & Lace, birthday gift (from Andover, MA location).

Jeans: James Jeans (twiggy/silkstone touch legging) from Habit on the sale rack at $50 (originally $158 and still at this price on the James Jeans website). If you are ever in Southie, definitely stop Habit! You now I am a fan of Gap 1969 denim. So, I recommend the 1969 super stretch legging jeans, $79.95.

Bag: Loeffler Randall Satchel from Bloomingdale’s, $495/paid $396. I purchased this at the last Friends & Family event and saved 20%. This particular bag is no longer available. However, my friend Jenna found this exact bag super marked down and nabbed at $200 on this trip!

Boots: Coach from Macy’s (old). My mom gave this to me for Christmas two years ago. Macy’s has plenty of tall camel-colored boots. Buy more, save more! Use code GREAT and save 20% off one pair; 25% off two pairs; or 40% off three or more pairs.

Love the layered look and those boots are gorgeous! I could spend all day shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so I totally get it 🙂
