Rifling through the racks at Closet Connection, I could not help but notice this perfectly patterned pencil skirt. Crossing my fingers while in the fitting room I breathed a sigh of relief when I zipped it up and it fit like a glove. The best part was, I scored this skirt for $12! I love the versatility of this skirt. As pictured, I styled it to be office appropriate but can easily turn it into a more casual look by throwing on a chambray shirt and a pair of summer espadrille flats. I love items of clothing that can double for work and play; more bang for the buck.

Kim’s advice on maternity clothing: buy a few key items in neutral colors so that you can keep it on rotation throughout your pregnancy.
Now that I am back into the swing of things since my return from Iceland, I figured I would give you an update on my short stint in Reyjavik; what I did, what I wore, etc. My weekend trip was to surprise a dear friend for her big 3-0! She was completely shocked when she woke up to her sister and me chilling in the sick apartment her husband rented for us. The apartment was full of interesting pieces of art, as you will see in some of my pics below.
After returning from my whirlwind weekend in Iceland, I was a bit discombobulated. So on my first day back to work, I needed an easy outfit that required very little thought. Per usual, I opted for a dress. I love this particular dress for a few reasons: 1) the fit and flare silhouette defines my waistline, 2) the boldness of the blue hue and 3) the stretchy-ness of the fabric that makes it so comfortable.
