I love SOWA Sundays. Sadly, I’ve only been three times this year; the third being this past Sunday. Kayte (Mass Musings) was hosting an event at the SOWA Vintage Market: mimosas, treats and vintage? I was so there. This was the first time I actually took the time to browse the different vintage stalls. The jewelry, clothes, furniture and knick knacks were all gorgeous and interesting. I always wonder what the story is behind each piece. Who did it once belong to and how did it end up here? Kayte handed me the task of styling a mannequin and I gladly obliged. I rifled through the racks and settled on a green dress that had this beautiful foiled all over pattern, topped it with a fur stole and a silver necklace with acorn charms! I would have nabbed the dress, but unfortunately it didn’t fit. I was somewhat relieved, since I really shouldn’t be shelling out any money at this point. And what blogger get together would be complete without a photo shoot? Elissa (Style Wire) and I snuck outside for a few minutes and snapped a few pics.
And here are the results: me and my oversize knit cardi. Comfy and easy; just how I like my weekend outfits. As much as I love the dark hues of Fall, I equally love the neutral tones on this grandpa-inspired cardigan. The geometric pattern is a plus. Once again, the hubby (so weird!) questions why I insist on wearing ‘baggy’ clothes. Men, they just don’t get it!
