Along the same vein as last week’s post, I dressed up a classic number, my work LBD, with a fitted peplum blazer. The peplum is quite a popular trend and one I admire but never really got into. Thinking about it now, I am somewhat surprised I didn’t give it a chance since I love fit and flare silhouettes. When I spotted this blazer on the rack of The Fashion Truck, I figured it was worth trying something knew. The bold blue hue and faux leather details were also factors that weighed in the blazer’s favor. I tried it on and immediately decided that it was a must-have for the Fall.
The blazer is the perfect partner to my LBD. The blue definitely pops against the black and the faux leather details give the overall look a bit of an edge. Leather might be considered a bit ‘wild’ for the office so infusing a small dose of it keeps it work appropriate. Well, I didn’t get sent home so that is a good sign! I decided to keep the rest of the outfit simple so I went light on the accessories and opted for a basic black pump. As I headed out the door for work, I was already thinking of how I can remix the blazer for play…
