Trendy On A Budget

Looking good shouldn't cost that much!

Colorfully Done

Banana Republic_Piperlime_Arturo Chiang (3)During the winter months, especially after the holiday season, I found myself online shopping A LOT. Cozied up on my couch, clad in sweats with heat blasting, I would reach for my laptop and visit my fave websites. This was my cold weather hobby. The freezing temps and snow did not discourage me from perusing all things warm weather related. It was my way of wishing the cold away. During one of these sessions, I found this amazingly colorful dress in my tried and true silhouette: the fit & flare. And with the price, it was a no brainer. When it arrived, my excitement was quickly dissipated when reality struck. I would have to wait patiently for the long winter months to pass before wearing this gorgeous number. On a hanger and into the closet it went.

It wasn’t until a month or so ago, during one of my closet purging moments, I rediscovered the dress! After a trip to the tailor (minor adjustments) and a warm day later, I finally got to show it off.  What I love most about this dress is how colorful it is without being overwhelming. It is easy to highlight any one of the many colors woven into the fabric of this dress. Eenie, meenie, miney, mo! I decided to go with a bright yellow cardi, giving it the work appropriate touch. The fullness of the skirt gave it a nice swing as I sashayed my way through the office!

Outfit Details:

Pretty girl!! Online shopping for spring pieces in the winter is one of my WORST habits, but it does make for some fun surprises when the warm weather hits! Love it belted with a cardi too 🙂

Wow, what a steal! Online retail therapy is a weakness of mine too, and it definitely helps to have some warm weather pieces to look forward to when it’s freezing out. Love this dress on you!
