What’s In My Closet

Alexander McQueen_Banana Republic_Forever21_cover

Not sure if I mentioned, but Dan and I closed on our house in September! We are undergoing major renovations and will move sometime in April BECAUSE I will be going to India in January for 3 months (for work). I know. Crazy, right? So between construction, the holidays and packing for India before stowing away all of my warm-weather wardrobe, I need to start packing up my belongs for the big move. First stop: my closet.

Cable Knit & Leather

I seriously need a vacation to recover from my vacation. Does anyone else ever feel like that? The task of unpacking three suitcases, doing a bazillion loads of laundry and clearing out 450+ work emails was exhausting. I felt like I was running on fumes from the lack of sleep thanks to Mr. jetlag. I am slowly getting back into the swing of things, including giving this blog some TLC.

Boyfriend

I recently did a major closet purge, sending pieces to the consignment shop or goodwill. I took inventory of what was left hanging in my closet and realized that I have amassed quite a collection of button down tops. There’s something so easy and chic about throwing on a crisp button down paired with skinnies and pumps. The latest addition to feed my addiction is this oversized top, borrowed from the boys. So I am a bit late to the jogger pant party, but better late than never, right? It took a $29 price tag at the Lululemon outlet to get me into a pair. Glad I did because I heart them. Lightweight, soft, loose-fitting. Perfect for a casual Saturday afternoon running (pun intended) errands. But while wearing them, I was brought back to my elementary-hammer pants-wearing days where all the running I did was away from the boys on the playground. Because let’s face it, I wasn’t down for getting cooties.

Just About Fall

How is it post-LDW already? With the passing of Labor Day, we bid adieu to Summer and usher in the impending Fall season. As sad as I am to see Summer go, Fall is legit my favorite season. But it’s hard to believe we are about to cross the threshold into the next season when we have been experiencing some insane hot (think 90 degrees) weather. So to ease the transition, I added a few key Fall pieces to this white tee and ripped jeans ensemble. First off, my very first Furla bag. Isn’t the rich tone to die for? It’s the perfect size; big enough to tote around my belongings, but not too big where it looks like I am ready to run away from home at any second. This crossbody is the perfect marriage of fashion and function. Lastly, Fall is all about the boots, ’bout the boots. Well, booties in this case! This ‘it’s still Summer but I’m looking forward to Fall’ outfit was the perfect OOTD for my rendezvous with the hubs in Portsmouth, NH.
